// Monaco in the morning, summer 2012 //

Well, the day is finally here. I leave for Italy tomorrow to start my new job. For those who don’t know, my boyfriend and I work on private yachts; he’s an engineer and I’m a stewardess. If you don’t get it, just picture me as Kate Hudson in Fool’s Gold or [SPOILER ALERT] the girl in Wolf of Wall Street who brings Jonah and Leo Bloody Mary’s on his yacht in Portofino…. Which later sinks.

I’ve been sooooooo fortunate to take the last year off to get ahead in school and really kick start The Healthy Collective. I’m studying to become a Nutritionist, so obviously THC started mainly as a health blog. It still is, but it’s going to start opening it’s doors to new things as well. THC is going to have more of an “everything” feel. Anything goes, over here – You never know what the next post will be about!

I’m going to start posting photos from all the great places I get to see around the Med & Caribbean (by sea, mind you!) and wherever else this new job takes me. There is a new TRAVEL category at the top of the page and I’m thinking it’ll fill up pretty quick.

Hopefully I’ll post more workouts. I won’t have a gym anymore, so I’ll have to get creative with my exercise and broaden my list of go-to YouTube workouts. Maybe I’ll even make some up of my own!

So those are the main “planned” additions. But, I regret to say… There is 1 subtraction.

No more recipes :( .

Working on a yacht is a bit of an anomaly – there is no other job like it in the world.  It’s fun, strange, exciting, hard work, weird and amazing all at once! Almost all boats have a chef who cooks every meal for the crew and/or guests. This isn’t your average cafeteria buffet sludge. This is high-end, good quality food. Sounds pretty rad, right? It really and truly is.

But because I very recently fell in love with cooking, it’s a little heartbreaking because the galley isn’t mine. I can’t just walk in and take over someone’s full time work station! Rude! {BTW, a kitchen on a boat is called the galley.}

Anyways, you won’t be seeing many recipe posts on THC for a while. Stop! Don’t cry. It’ll all be fine. One day we’ll laugh about this!

I always knew this day was going to come and I always knew that The Healthy Collective would be ever-changing with my life.

Lucky for me, I chose a blog name that can basically cover anything & everything! Unlucky for me, the initials are THC. Are you kidding me? Should’ve thought that one through.

Being healthy includes being happy, wouldn’t you agree? So that means I can post about anything that makes me happy and anything I think will make you happy! All the little things that make life amazing. Right? That’s what THC is all about.

So I hope you enjoy the new additions to the site. I love blogging and AS IF I’m gonna stop just because my situation is changing. Never.

I also want to say to all of you, THANK YOU FOR READING my blog. The sense of community between readers and other blogger/cyber friends is amazing and I love it! That being said, if there is anything you guys want to see more of or want me to write about, just say it! Email healthycollective@gmail.com, write in the comments or use the contact form!

Ok, I have to start packing… Toodles!
